In 2013 the Society launched its own training programme, the Care Academy. The programme was designed to give training, development and general support to its own staff and to external students who are attending courses at college on health and social care subjects.
The Society recognised that there is a serious shortage of high quality care staff in the industry and decided to take matters into its own hands and train the care managers of tomorrow that the care sector desperately needs.
As well as supporting and developing our own staff, we are also working in partnership with K College on an apprenticeship programme. The apprenticeships provide a great opportunity for students to gain valuable qualifications whilst gaining hands on experience within a care home environment.
The Academy has only been operating for a little over a year but we already have many success stories.
