Coming soon to Tonbridge, a brand new extra care scheme comprising 59 one and two bedroom apartments, scheduled for completion in 2018.

Extra care, often referred to as assisted living, enables older people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible within the community, whilst providing them with a degree of support, tailored to their individual needs.

Those living in extra care schemes enjoy living independent lives within the community, with peace of mind that they are in a safe and secure environment with staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, should an emergency arise.

The modern and spacious apartments each have a kitchen, dining room, living room, en suite accessible wet rooms and either one or two bedrooms. They will be fitted with a nurse call system and have provision for a phone line, terrestrial TV and Sky.

Communal facilities include landscaped gardens, an entertainment room, hair salon and seating areas including quiet areas. There will be a housing staff presence 24 hours a day, seven days a week and one hot meal will be provided daily for residents.

The extra care scheme will sit close to the A26, making it extremely accessible for the A21, A228 and M25. The train station is a mile away, and provides trains into nearby Tunbridge Wells, Hastings, Folkestone and London.

Apartments will be available on an affordable rent basis and for sale through Older Peoples Shared Ownership (OPSO). Those wishing to rent an apartment will need to be nominated by Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, which will mean being accepted onto the council's housing register.

Buyers will also need to apply through the government's Help to Buy scheme, you can read more about this here. Our staff will be able to assist you with your application, should you need any support. You can view our one bedroom and two bedroom properties on the Help to Buy website.
