IAN IS NOW A PERMANENT MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE TEAM
Ian Thomas, a familiar face around many of The Abbeyfield Kent Society properties, has joined the Society on a full time basis as Director of Property and Development.
Ian was previously an adviser to the Society while working as the lead Consultant for Architecture and Design with property experts, Cluttons.
Chief Executive, Leon Steer, said: “We had built up such a good working relationship with Ian while he was working as a Consultant, that we wanted him on board full time.
“We have ambitious development plans which will keep Ian very busy. He is acknowledged to be one of the top men in his field when it comes to designing buildings for use in the field of care. His most recent successes have been the design of the 56-room extra care scheme we will be developing on the site of the former Valley Lodge care home in Gravesend this year, and the extension and refurbishment of Greensted, both of which have been given planning permission.”
Ian said: “I really enjoyed my association with Abbeyfield as a Consultant, and am now pleased to be part of the permanent team as we drive ahead with new schemes, all aimed at improving the lives of our older people.
“I shall be working from headquarters at Cuxton where I have my own office and where I can maintain my close working relationship with the senior executive management team and all the support staff. I also intend to visit the homes and houses as much as possible to keep everyone informed of the exciting plans proposed for our properties.”
